This Post is Good to the Last Drop

I'm not gonna lie - I am a coffee addict. Whether you call it a cup of joe, lava from java, battery acid, decoction, forty weight or demitasse - I love it all (to my shame). I blame my days as an early morning radio news sidekick where I'd be up by 4:30 am each day, write as many news stories as I could in 90 minutes - usually about 18-22 stories - then hit the airwaves and sound like I was wide awake. In the video, Johnson shakes up long held conceptions that ideas come instantly in a flash of brilliance in some a haphazard, unpredictable manner. What Johnson postulates is that ideas can be nurtured. He asserts that ideas take time to germinate from "slow hunches" or "half ideas" given proper space, … [Read more...]

Here's an excerpt: The old cliché, “time is money” is particularly true for any professional writer—especially when you’re on deadline. The consequences of missing deadlines are lost money, work, and credibility. As a former journalist (a.k.a hourly deadline writer) for more than a decade, I know that deadline writing is a skill that can be … [Read more...]
