Name Your New Year Resolution

As a blogger, I’m almost obligated by the fictional Blogger Code of Conduct to write a post about New Year resolutions.

It comes with the territory.

So to keep my non-existent blogging certification and license in place, here’s my requisite resolution post.

In 2012 I hereby resolve to complete the following:

1. Train and complete two full marathons, one in the first half and the other the second half of the year
2. Earn at least my purple belt in Karate
3. Strive to write at least 12 guest posts for web sites that I respect and admire (Michael Hyatt, Jon Acuff, Ron Edmundson…etc.)
4. Strive to write at least 12 articles for various online publications (RELEVANT Magazine, FaithVillage, the Christian Post, The Brink…etc.)
5. Secure at least two public speaking engagements
6. Be accepted into and complete Chuck Colson’s Centurions Program
7. Be able to do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups and 10 pull-ups consecutively

Those are my aspirations for 2012.

Question: What do you aspire to quit doing or start doing in the New Year?

WOW! You have a lot on your plate! I did not write a New Years Resolution Blog…. I usually don’t make them. BUT my plans for the year include running a 5K at the beginning of the year and a 10K by the end. AND reading 30 autobiographies / biographies / memoirs by before I turn 30 on Dec 20th.

I’m going to write more and take writing a little more seriously.

I am going to look at the sky and try not miss God’s most beautiful creation everyday and notice as many sunrises or sunsets as I can. I am going to pray more and be as close to God as possible and make every moment count for eternity (I’m getting older so my time is getting shorter here on earth and I want to do as much as I can with the time I have).

Well, it’s good that you don’t have to get your non-existent license revoked. I’m working on generosity this year. Not just monetarily, but in spirit as well.

These are some great goals. I aspire to become a better writer, husband, and man of God this year. Simple but true. I have goals and action steps in writing to accoplish these aspirations.

I believe there is always room for improvement. I hope to spend the year learning new things, expanding and improving writing techniques, and I want to publish double the number of children’s stories this year. (last year’s count totaled 14)

I will drop 20 lbs in the beginning of the year, and I might take your #7 as a challenge too.
