First I just registered for the 37th Annual Marine Corp Marathon (MCM). This race will be held on Sunday, Octocber 28th and runs all over Washington, DC. I ran in this marathon two years ago and it was by far the most fun of the five full marathons I’ve completed thus far.
I missed out on last year’s running of the MCM because the race sold out in less than 48 hours and I dragged my feet – thinking I’d have time. Not so and that really bummed me out.
This year I stalked the registration site once it went live and signed up. It looks like this year’s race will sell out within a couple of hours – it’s already at 90% capacity and the site has been active for less than 90 minutes.
It’s a popular event because it runs all over the DC metro and Arlington area – you get a great view of every major monument in town. There were more than 40,000 runners when I ran it in 2009 – I’m thrilled to be part of it again!
The second bit of good news is that I went to my WeightWatchers weigh-in during my lunch hour today. I was down -3.8 lbs. for a total loss of -9.8 lbs. since I restarted the program two weeks ago. My goal is to lose a total of -40 lbs. by my first marathon of the year which is the Buffalo Marathon on Sunday, May 27th. I’ll keep you posted on the progress.
Question: Do you have any goals related to your physical health for this year?
